About us

We love learning on YouTube, but we're frustrated by how much we forget from videos. Our typical YouTube learning journey looks like this:

1. Day 1: Enlightenment. We watch videos, captivated by facts and ideas we’d love to remember.
2. Later in Day 1: The Knowledge High. Connections with other ideas spark, we start to imagine the conversations our new insights will fuel, etc.
3. Days 2-30: The Fog. Details start blurring. We become hesitant to mention the video in conversations, conscious of our shaky retention.
4. Days 30+: The Void. We forget what we've forgotten. We find ourselves saying, "I watched a YouTube video about this once, but I can't remember the details…"

We're building Retainit because we believe that remembering what we learn on YouTube should be a choice, not a challenge. We believe memory augmentation tools have extraordinary potential to help people connect more deeply with that which gives their lives meaning.

Retainit combines our passions for YouTube, memory systems, and gaming. We're a small team working remotely across Europe with extensive experience in building software and designing highly personalised learning experiences.
